Transfer Between My Accounts

EECU now offers the ability to transfer funds to and from your accounts at other financial institutions. The feature is called Transfer Between My Accounts and is part of the External Transfer feature found under the Transfer Funds menu of Online Banking. Please note that this service is for transferring funds to accounts held in your name at other institutions. If you need to transfer money to accounts at another institution that are owned by other people, use the PopMoney service under External Transfers. Please Note: If you do not have access to Online Banking or are otherwise unable to use the External Transfer feature, you may instead use the ACH Origination Form (also available on the FAQ).

In order to set up a transfer between your EECU accounts and your external accounts, you must first enroll in the service and then set up your external accounts. To set up your external accounts, you must know the routing and transit (ABA) number, as well as the actual account number. That information is entered into the system and must then be verified.

To verify that the account information is correct and that you actually have access to the accounts, the transfer system makes two small electronic deposits into the account and then withdraws the funds the same way. After the deposits are made, you must access the external account to obtain the amounts of the two deposits and then enter that information into the verification screen in the transfer system. Once you have successfully verified the amounts, you will be allowed to transfer funds between your EECU accounts and your external accounts, subject to certain limits. The limits are displayed at the time you conduct a transaction.

Depending on your transaction type, you will receive three (3) free standard incoming and outgoing transfers per month. After that, transfers are $5.00 each. Next Day transfers are $10.00 each and do not include any free transfers. Click the "Calculate Fee" button when you are scheduling a transfer to see if the transaction is subject to a fee. There is also a link next to the "Calculate Fee" button that will give you details on fees, as well as show you the number of free transactions you have left for the month.
