Yes. To do this, the E-Alerts system requires that you enter your phone number in the form of an e-mail address. The e-mail message will then be converted to an SMS text message by your wireless carrier and sent to your phone. The formatting of the e-mail address depends on your wireless carrier. Below is the format for some of the wireless carriers in this area. Important Note: For the purposes of this example, we have used 8175551212 as the sample phone number. You should substitute your own 10-digit wireless number in place of this sample phone number in the e-mail format:
AT&T Wireless: 8175551212@txt.att.net
Boost Mobile: 8175551212@myboostmobile.com
Metro PCS: 8175551212@mymetropcs.com
Sprint: 8175551212@messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-Mobile: 8175551212@tmomail.net
Verizon: 8175551212@vtext.com
Virgin Mobile: 8175551212@vmobl.com
Please note that unless you have an unlimited text plan on your phone, your carrier may charge you a fee for each text message. Please check with your wireless carrier if you are unsure.
